About Us

LIVE LIFE UNAPOLOGETICALLY

When I was public school, I had 2 pairs of jeans to my name each year. It was all we could afford and my mom would sew knee patches on each spring to carry us through to August when we would trek out to get the new ones.   Unless of course, I got the stylish hand me downs from my cousin. Mom always tried hard to make sure we didn't look as poor as we were.

As I entered into the workforce, I started dressing the way one would expect an accountant to dress.  The shirt, the tie, the suit, the shoes. But in a room full of accountants, we all looked the same.  So, how do you stand out? For me, I started wearing bold solid colour silk ties, with patent leather shoes with a three piece pinstripe suit. I have a nice collection of grey, tan, navy and black suits and if I could ever shed the sympathy weight I gained with my wife getting pregnant, I would be able to wear them again. As I progressed in my career and looked around, some of the others were starting to catch up.  So, I went with a bow tie, and learned to tie my own bow tie.  There is an art to tying the perfect bow tie and I would highly recommend it for anybody daring to be different.

When I had enough of working to someone's expectation of what an accountant should dress like, I struck out on my own.  Unless I have a very important meeting at the bank, I dress how I want to make others to feel.  Who doesn't like to make other people happy? A fresh bright shirt, (often embroidered with the mantra Knowledge, Wisdom, Truth), a pair of casual pants or new blue jeans, with  pair of cowboy boots or deck shoes.

Looking back, Mom taught me an important lesson. It isn't the brand that makes the man, but rather the man that CREATES the brand and makes it his own.  So with that in mind, I have always chose my clothes carefully. I don't always have control of how I feel, but I always have 100% control on how I look. And if you look confident and feel confident, no matter what other demons you may be wrestling in your mind, others will believe in you.  On the balance of those probabilities, you will have more and more good days and you will attract like minded people towards your world.  And it all starts with a shirt.

So, whatever the occasion, Live Life Unapologetically and dress your best.
